Ήρθα μια μέρα στην Αθηνά.
This project introduces the idea of the city as a labyrinth. It brings poetry closer to someone that might have been unaware, it challenges people to look for what comes after. “Both art history and visual culture have been narrativised so as to privilege certain locations and geographies of art over others” (Sohat & Stam), this though won’t be true if we alter the city in to an urban museum. My graffiti aims to bring the city closer to the public, to break the boundaries between what an artwork is supposed to look like, or where it is supposed to be exhibited. “The knowledge we have by intuition is analogous to that we gain by walking around a city and living in it” (Stephen, Kern. 1983). So, in a city like Athens in the midst of the crisis, turning the city into an urban exhibition space of artworks seems to me as a great solution, bringing people closer to art and the city itself. |

συνεχίζεται κάπου στο Σύνταγμα… Πενήντα χιλιάδες ζεύγη ματιά Με υποδέχτηκαν συνεχίζεται κάπου στην Ομόνοια… Οι πενήντα χιλιάδες χαφιέδες σου Με υποδέχτηκαν συνεχίζεται κάπου στο Μεταξουργείο… Τα νεκρωμένα καφενεία σου Με υποδέχτηκαν συνεχίζεται κάπου στο Μοναστηράκι… Τα τρομαγμένα πρόσωπα των πολιτών σου Με υποδέχτηκαν συνεχίζεται κάπου στα Εξάρχεια… Οι καημοί, το μαράζι κ’ οι ψίθυροι των φοιτητών σου Με υποδέχτηκαν, συνεχίζεται κάπου στο Αναφιώτικα… Κ’ οι αγωνίες των εξορισμένων στα νησιά Με χαιρέτησαν συνεχίζεται κάπου στο Θησείο… Και μου κουνήσανε την κεφαλή, συνεχίζεται κάπου στην Ακρόπολη… Σαν αηδόνια βουβά και περίλυπα οι ποιητές σου. απόσπασμα από το ποίημα του Στρατής Τσίρκας |
